In 2019 Whatnot originally started as a more standard resale platform, at first focused on authenticating just one kind of collectable: Funko Pops. As the pandemic took over and everyone was suddenly stuck at home, Whatnot leaned hard into live shopping. The rest is history. Since then we've raised 3.7B and became the fastest growing marketplace ever in the United States.
Context
I joined Whatnot as their first Head of Design & Product Designer. My immediate task was to hit the ground running and rebrand the company, redesign the new application and build a design team. A heavy ask but this is right up my alley and what I truly love to do.

By using simple shapes we create an approachable, timeless mark that conveys harmony and strength while the subtle notch at the baseline creates depth and reflects movement and evolution.
